Hello! I'm happy to be here tonight because it means I made it through last week which was LONG! I'm ready for Christmas break. I think this will be a quick one tonight with a little "chatting" and a lot of pictures. So let's get going, shall we?
1. I just finished our Christmas cards yesterday afternoon. They are officially ordered from Costco. Hopefully I can get them addressed and mailed ASAP. Here is one of our pics that didn't make the cut. (Because I literally cut off my own foot - thanks to my tripod.)
It feels great to have that crossed off my list.
2. We were bell ringers for the Salvation Army last Monday night It was our second year doing and it while we really enjoy it, I seem to always pick the coldest night of the year! I think the windchill was 17* last Monday night. Nevertheless, we persisted - albeit with a hot chocolate break - and made it our two hours!
3. I was gone EVERY night last week. (Monday = bell ringers, Tuesday = Chvrches concert, Wednesday = #1's induction into English National Honor Society, Thursday = "Growing Up Girls" with #4, Friday = craft night) Therefore, most night's Advent Calendar activities revolved around dessert. This is what happens when the kids are in charge of brownies at our house:
Another night was a hot chocolate bar which is a HUGE hit at our house because I always have whipping cream and therefore homemade whipped cream for topping. Delish!
4. Our elf, Ralph, has been busy this week!
5. Tuesday night we went to The Night the Buzz Stole Christmas down at the Midland theater. (For those of you not local or not into good music (j/k), the Buzz is a radio station here in KC.) The headliner was a band called Chvrches and they were awesome! We went with two other couples and had dinner at the Yardhouse before the concert. It was a really fun night all around.
Christi and I introduced ourselves to the new morning show host, Jordin. She was awesome and super fun to get to know!
Chvrches put on a really great show. My only complaint was that they didn't play long enough. I think they only played for an hour and we were out of there by 10:20 which was was way too early. Oh well, if they come back to town I'd go see them again!
Lauren, the lead singer, danced around stage and was really fun to watch. She felt a little reminiscent of Gwen Stefani from No Doubt. All that to say, I loved the show!
6. Friday night we went over to Chad and Christi's house for our annual Craft Night. We managed to convince the big girls to join us and we had so much fun. The kids did crafts and hung out with us and it was just a chill, fun night.
Then last night the hubby and I had his work party. We dressed to the nines for it, too!
Throw in a few soccer games, some errands, a trip to the grocery store, shopping at the West Bottoms, and the neighborhood hay ride and there was our weekend! It was a good one, though.
But now? Now I am ready to sit my ass on the couch with a glass of red and just enjoy my twinkle lights and my family. Have a great week!
