Another edition of Six on Sunday without photos. Sorry about that but I haven't been pulling out the big gun very often lately since the arrival of my iPhone. I still have to upgrade the OS on my Mac before it will recognize photos taken with my phone. Oops.
1. The hubby and I managed to go out for a date night Friday night. My sister offered to watch the kids for us which was awesome! We had a gift card for J. Alexander's and we put it to good use. Unfortunately, the wait was almost an hour so by the time we actually finished dinner, it was too late for a movie. (We are just too old to go to movies that don't start until after 10pm! Call us Losers. It's OK.) Anyway, we stopped by a Redbox and grabbed a movie. What we failed to notice was that we grabbed a Blue Ray. We we don't own a Blue Ray player. Genius move. The date ended early.
2. Yesterday was crazy busy. I took the littles to gymnastics with help from #3. After that we buzzed over to the grocery store. Thankfully, the girls were angels. No joke. We came home, they ate their donut and played for awhile while I messed around in the kitchen. After the girls ate lunch and the littles were down for naps, #1 and I headed out. This time we went to the tailor to drop off her new Miss Me jeans for hemming. We also needed to exchange her flip flops at Aeropostale. I "needed" a new T-shirt, so I picked up a cute little number at The Limited. At that point I decided I also "needed" a cute necklace to go with said T-shirt. I also picked up a fun white purse at Charming Charlie (love that store!). On the way home we stopped by Costco for our weekly supply (4.5 gallons) of organic milk. Did it end there? Oh no!! We still had a Target run to make. We ran our Costco goods inside, collected #3 and #4 and ran to Target. Phew!
After Target, our friends came over for a fun night of burgers, beers, and kids running amok. Good times.
3. What was the hubby doing while I was running all over town yesterday? Yard work. All day.
We kind of let everything go to you-know-what last summer when it was 500 degrees outside every day. We are paying for it this summer. It needs a little help. I hope his work pays off.
4. This morning I went for a 12 mile run with Carmen. It was a beautiful day outside! The temperature was absolutely perfect - 55* and low humidity. We had an "ahem" interesting adventure but I enjoyed it all immensely. It was a great start to my day.
5. We celebrated this weather today by taking a bike ride to Orange Leaf. The girls all loved it! #3 rides behind me in a tandem bike and #4 rides behind the hubby in a seat. They talk to us NONSTOP. The entire way there and home, talk, talk, talk. I love it.
6. This weather makes me change up the menu to more fun, summery things. Here's our menu for the week:
Sunday: Greek Gyros and fruit salad
Meatless Monday: Salmon burgers (fish sticks for the littles) and green beans and fruit
Tuesday: Meatball subs and zucchini and fruit
Wednesday: Chicken Enchiladas and fruit salad
Thursday: Flank Steak and asparagas
Friday: Papa Murphy's (a staple!) and fruit and salad
Saturday: Burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, BBQ beans, and watermelon
That's it! Have a great week.
